Some things never change. Recently, my dad gave me a stack of old, childhood photos, and it included captures from Holidays, the beach, Halloween. As I looked through the photos, I was flooded with memories -- and thoughts about my outfits.
"This is back in style...."
"I've seen pants like this."
"What were my parents THINKING?"
If you're a long-time reader, you know that my mom has had a huge influence on my personal style. She gave me a self-reflective perspective and fostered a confidence in clothing, and for that, I can never repay her. So when I looked at these photos, I was looking through a unique lens.
Out of 50+ photos, one look stood out to me instantly: velour leopard pants! It's likely I didn't think much of these pants when wearing them for Christmas 2001. I was scrolling through the Rent the Runway website, 20 years later, I serendipitously came across....leopard pants. Naturally, I had to rent them to recreate this look.
How did I do?? I thought this was such a fun project -- I'm looking forward to recreating more of my childhood looks with modern pieces. Be sure to follow me on Instagram!
